About
Pastoral in D Major is a study for solo oboe built around a lyrical melody evoking an image of rolling countryside and green pastures and fields. Inspired by New Zealand's hilly, constantly undulating landscape, the piece ventures into irregularly changing time signatures and flexible, conversation-like phrasing.
